✤ Milo
The youngest member of the family, Milo hatched days after his sister, giving his parents a big scare, as they feared that he did not make it. He's much more frail than his siblings, much like Vyrm during his childhood. Surrounded by much needed care, Milo was able to survive the earliest days of his life, and while he's still quite sickly today, it is no longer a serious risk to his life. He is practically inseparable from his Tiktik plushie, which makes him feel safe whenever his parents aren't around.

Name origin
The name Milo is derived from multiple languages and has various meanings: dear and beloved (Slavic) or of the yew-flower (Greek). The yew-flower can symbolize death and resurrection, which would connect to Grimm's ritual cycle, as well as Milo's sickly nature. In-universe, Milo was also given his name by Grimm, and while the first two meanings were what Grimm had in mind, the symbolism is fitting for the weaker of the twins.Table of Contents

Background
Milo is the youngest of the family members. He was part of the same litter as Asta, but his egg took over a week longer than hers to hatch. Before even feeling the world outside of his egg, Milo was already giving their parents a reason to worry. What was at first a short delay, became a period full of concern and anticipation of the worst.But despite his slower start, he made it. He hatched from his eggs, noticeably smaller and more frail than his twin sister. He was a lot more quiet, he struggled to move, acting sluggish even for a hatchling, and it was obvious that the concern for his well-being would not end there. Milo needed more attention from the beginning, both in regards to nutrition, health check-ups from Jiji, the town's doctor, but also maintaining his temperature; as the pups' fur began to grow, his disadvantage became clear. Half of his body was hairless, and unlike his father, Vyrm, he had no additional fat to protect him from the cold. His tendency to lose warmth quickly was a big reason why he became close to Asta. Her fur became something he started to associate with warmth and comfort, so the two were nearly inseparable in their early childhood.
As he survived past the earliest moments of his life, his condition stabilized to the point he wasn't at a serious risk of death. That was also when he began showing interest in the outside world, though it paled in comparison to how energetic and curious his sister was. Most of the time, Milo was simply following in her footsteps. It was very early on when he started to notice how much slower he is, and that he can't do the things she can. It made him upset, and it was a realization that would manifest into a deep insecurity as time went on.
At 1 year old, Milo is very grumpy and introverted. He tries to keep up with his sister, but he realizes that he's too weak. He envies her and finds her to be a role model for the kind of bug he wants to be, but even at such a young age, there are signs that this envy may eventually grow into something a lot more nasty and self-destructive.
