Name origin
Lewk is a name derived from the Proto-Indo-European word root, lewk- (or leuk-), meaning bright and to shine. In-universe, the name was chosen by Grimm based on Lewk's pale fur, as well as in an affectionate manner - Lewk was his first child with Vyrm, and quickly became the light of his life.Table of Contents

As you'd expect from a pup his age, Lewk is short and has a stubby appearance. His head appears quite large in comparison to his body, and his arms and legs are very short, suggesting he may not grow to be as tall as Grimm. His tail is extremely long, further suggesting that some of his traits were inherited from the Grimmchild stage in Grimm's cycle, if the wings did not make that obvious. It is just as flexible as Vyrm's tail, allowing for a wide range of movement as well as expression, though it is covered in fur throughout its whole length, ending in a round fluffy tip. His legs are digitigrade, and he has soft pads on the inside of his palms and feet.
Lewk's whole body, with the exception of his head, is covered in long, soft fur. He inherited Vyrm's leucism, which means that the fur is predominantly light brown and white. The darker areas cover his neck, back and his tail, with lighter fur on his arms and legs, and surrounding his exposed underbelly. The stomach has visible segmenting made of skin wrinkles, just as is the case with Vyrm. The fur on his neck is very long and thick, forming a kind of mane that extends to his back. The darkest part of his body are the wings, which have four "digits". On the inside, they have a reddish color, just a bit darker than the light brown fur. The outer wings are a muted dark brown, almost black. The wings are very flexible, allowing him to wrap them tightly around his body, and in a folded position they almost resemble some kind of cloak or cape.
Lewk is a very healthy pup, his fur is shiny and kept in great condition (although it can get dirty and tangled after his time at school), and he has a lot of energy to spare. Although his legs are still quite short and he can be a bit clumsy, he can walk and even run on two legs easily, helped by his long tail which provides a lot of balance. The wings are strong enough to let him glide, although it is already clear that they may not be big enough to allow him take off and fly. He inherited some of the natural fat seen in Vyrm, making him fairly round, though the presence of fur all over the body means that it does not play as big of a role in maintaining temperature, and so the fat layer is much thinner in comparison to Vyrm.
Background
Lewk was born around 7 years after Vyrm and Grimm's reunion. The two have tried for a child for nearly 3 years at that point, unsuccessful due to the complications of Grimm's physical form being unable to conceive, which forced him to continue modifying his body to allow for it to happen. Eventually they succeeded, and after a few months, the egg from which Lewk would hatch was welcomed to the world.From the day his eyes opened, Lewk already showed a lot of curiosity about the world. He was watched carefully by his two parents, who refused to leave him for even a moment, and as a result, little Lewk grew very attached to them. His first steps were very clumsy, as unlike anyone else in the family, he had to get used to having wings. This made his early childhood slightly challenging, as he had to figure out how to use them since no one could fully explain it to him. As he grew up, he would attempt to learn how to fly in progressively complex and often concerning ways, even going as far as climbing the furniture and jumping off.
However, even as a little pup, Lewk began noticing that his family wasn't as carefree as he was. There were days where he saw Vyrm crying, he heard the tension in the exchanges between him and Hornet, and he noticed the sadness that occasionally clouded Grimm's eyes. He was curious why that was the case, but as he was unable to articulate his questions, he instead opted for trying to cheer them up. That was when his empathy first manifested, and it became a central trait of his character going forward. In truth to his name, he was the bright light of the family, he brought them all together, it was for his sake that they tried to do better, if only to save him from having to witness their struggles.
Once he reached two years, he was old enough to attend the Dirtmouth school. Unfortunately, growing up sheltered resulted in a lot of stress for the pup. Spending time away from home made him miss his two papas to the point he struggled to make friends, and his strange appearance did not help. However, his bright and cheerful personality quickly won his classmates over, and as he got more comfortable spending time away from his family, school became one of the most exciting aspects of his life. Around this time, his two younger siblings were born. Lewk quickly fell in love with them and was excited with his new role as an older brother, not to mention he was glad to finally have someone to play with at home. He was present when Asta's egg hatched, and helped to keep Milo's egg warm as the family waited and held their breath. Lewk was very quick to notice that Milo struggled in comparison with his sister, and his empathy was put on full display as he dedicated a lot of his day to helping him catch up and making sure he was always comfortable and happy.
The future is bright for Lewk, and it is clear that despite their own hardships, Grimm and Vyrm raised him well. He has many friends, and is very well loved by the Dirtmouth community. He already shows a lot of interest in its daily matters, he often helps Ogrim in his kitchen, and he loves running around town with his friends and checking if anyone needs any help. While it is not yet clear what his path is going to be as he grows up, he is undoubtedly on his way to become a very involved member of the community who wants to help everyone, a desire which may become overwhelming if he's not careful.
